is 20mths too young for night terrors?

Think DS1 (20 mths) had a night terror last night, started screaming / crying unconsolably at about 9.15pm. Could not comfort him, the normal shushing / patting did nothing, he kept on crying, didn't want to be picked up, kept saying "no". But he didn't want to be in his bed either. Wasn't sure if he was really awake or not. He stopped eventually as I cuddled him, then he appeared to be asleep instantly.
Not sure if this was a NT or not, or if not what else it was, he has never been like that before at night.

my son always wakes up about 2-3 hours after going to sleep, he too watches ceebeeies bed time hour and doesnt have any sugar before going to sleep, he has been like this since he was around 15 months old and is now 26 months old. i dont know if it is night terros or not as he gets up and runs into my room, as he wakes up he is screaming most of the time and sounds like he is hurt or scared, he does settle easily but only in another room, i have tried changing his room around but still have the same prob :-(, would be nice to know if it is night terros or if he just wants to be near me?
