Have a 3 week old dd, and if left, she seems to like having a really long sleep in the afternoon. The midwife advised not letting her go more than 4 hours without a feed, but another relative suggested to ignore this and "never to wake a sleeping baby......"
I kind of sit somewhere between the two - I don't want to get sucked into strict routines and I don't like to wake her, but on the other hand I also worry that if I don't wake her she might be awake all night, as she'll be catching up on feeds.
Any tips?? How long would you let a new baby sleep - as long as they like or after how long??? Does it make any difference to the night sleeps???
Thanks
