Any got advice on how to break cycle - 10 month DD will not sleep unless I'm there too, I'm despairing!

My 10 month old DD has never been a great sleeper but until about three weeks ago she would pretty reliably go down in her cot at 7ish, before ending up in our bed around 1am. This was really achieved by a bit of crying, a bit of shhssing, whatever worked really.

Trouble is, we went away over Christmas and she was quite unwell. It's been very disruptive. And now, she absolutely will not sleep until I go to bed with her. We have tried leaving her to cry (and checking her/calming her regularly, obviously), but last night she cried for two hours until she was totally hysterical and we gave up, and I went to bed (with her)!

I don't know what else to do to break the cycle. I've tried sitting with her in her room, lying down with her till she's asleep etc but even though she might go to sleep, she wakes up the moment I move a muscle. In the past we've tried PUPD and it hasn't worked, she just carries on crying. I bought No Cry Sleep Solution but so far my DD laughs in the face of such 'gentle' methods (so to speak)!

Oh God, this is an essay, but I just don't know what else to try - other than SERIOUS and prolonged crying. I would do this is I thought it would work, as I think she really needs the sleep, she's exhausted! Has anyone been here and got any ideas, or had such a hardened case for which really prolonged CC has worked? Thanks so much!

Oh dear - afraid I haven't really any advice. My 6mo does this too - I creep away but will only get short periods before she wakes up again.
I think in your case, though, you will get back to your previous routine. It's only been a couple of weeks since her routine was disrupted - I really think if you give her the security she needs now, she'll probably fall back into her old system.
Sorry I'm not much help - maybe someone more knowledgeable will come along.
Chin up, though, it will definitely get better!
