Can I put my 6 mo DS to sleep on his stomach?

DS has reflux and floppy larynx, and wakes every 1-2 hours during the night. He doesn't usually stay awake for long (I feed him 2-3 times after he goes down at 7pm). I think he may have mild apnoea - I notice there are sometimes long pauses between breaths when he sleeps, but not long enough to set off the breathing monitor I have for him, so less than 20 secs.

He can roll over from his front to his back now, and I just wonder if it might be worth trying to put him on his stomach to see if he would sleep better. Assuming he would even stay on his stomach of course.

Any thoughts/advice/experience??

TIA.

I believe that once babies can roll you can let them sleep however they are most comfortable, so it would probably be fine to try.

That said, I'm not a medical type and may be totally wrong. Maybe it would worth checking with your HV?

I put DD down on her front from around that age -- because she settled faster that way and if I did settle her on her back she'd always flipped onto her front within five minutes anyway, so it seemed pointless to spend extra time settling her on her back.

Thanks NN and P&L - going to give it a go tonight - nothing ventured, etc.
