I thought this was so weird today- maybe I got all my timing wrong today with his naps or something but during lunch of various finger foods I was reading paper having eaten my lunch already and this meal was taking soem time of sucking rice cakes and playing with cheese and cucumber. I looked round and he had fallen asleep sucking a rice-cake. At least it's not just me he falls asleep sucking then! In cot now!!

how long after lunch does he usually have his nap?

i have had this a couple of times. usually the mornings activities or not slept well means they are very tired early.

also a nice warm room with heating is very cosy and relaxing......especially when sucking on one of your favourite things.

If it starts to happen more regularly you may need to bring lunch forward a bit.

Try bringing the lunch time forwards by 45 minutes or so and see i that helps - my DS used to fall asleep at lunchtimes if he'd woken up too early or been running around lots in the morning.

DD used to do this all the time -we have loads of photos of her slumped in her high-chair. We ended up giving her really early lunches.

DS on the other hand never did it -he enjoys his food too much to fall asleep whilst eating
