Can someone give me some hope that this sleep nightmare will end...?!

My nearly 6 month old DS has been an ok sleeper. He's always self settled at 6pmish (this seems to be his natural bedtime) and generally slept through until between 2 and 4 am for a quick feed, then back to sleep till 6.30/7am. We had the usual sleep regression at 4 months which lasted ages but he's recently settled back down to his decent sleeping. Then 10 days ago, the nightmare began. He started waking up at about 2am then not going back to sleep until 4.30/5am, even though I fed him. He lies in his cot settling then crying for a couple of hours before finally going back to sleep. I know most people will say he's teething, but I'm not sure he is - he's fine during the day and very happy (although v tired from lack of sleep). He naps during the day although it can be a challenge to get him to sleep - I sometimes have to rock him. I just really want to know if anyone else has been through this and come out the other side or if anyone has any advice. I had to co-sleep last night and I hated it - I can't settle properly and it doesn't work for me. Thanks in advance

Is he about to sit up independently/take off crawling? What about the 6 month growth spurt? 6 months is a MAJOR sleep regression time.

Funny you should say that, he started sitting last week and when I put him on his tummy he does try to crawl (fails miserably!). Didn't realise 6 months was a sleep regression too - I've just got over the 4 month one!

Thanks for advice
