Help! My baby goes to sleep easily, but wakes all through the night...

Help please! My baby used to to sleep all night but since turning three months old she's waking up at 2am and then wakes up really regularly throughout the night until I give in at 7am and put her in bed with me. She has a bottle before bed and goes off no trouble - she's still awake when we put her down and she usually goes straight off. I breast feed her during the night, but I'm not sure if it's enough. I keep reading bout getting the baby to self soothe, but what is that and how do I do it? Thanks for any suggestions!

Night nursing is loaded with hind milk which is very creamy, full of brain-building fats, and very filling. A little bit of hind milk goes a long way. However, a typical 3 month old still feeds 3-hourly (or 8 times a day) and they have growth spurts all the time in the first six months which cause them to wake more at night and nurse more. I would not worry about "self-soothing" and trying to night wean until at least 6 months, more like 9 months TBH. (Or in my case, not until 24 months. )

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the advice. Although I hope it doesn't take 24 - I need my beauty sleep!

Well the 24 months is more a personal choice. He says "milk please mommy" in the middle of the night and it's very hard to refuse somebody who is so polite.
