How much sleep do you get?

My dd (11 months) is sleeping through the night, on a good night until 7am, it is a bit up and down at the moment though and sometimes is closer to 6am.

I think that one of the main things that I have really noticed having a baby is the tiredness. Even though she is basically sleeping all night now having to get up early 7 days a week is pretty exhausting, especially after looking after dd all day everyday (I am on my own)!!

I know that a lot of people (even those without children!) don't get much sleep but I can't remember what it was like not being a parent... was I tired most of the time then too??

Apparently people get 7hrs a night on average so I must be normal... am I?

I'd kill for even 6h straight
last night e.g. was
dd down at 1930
ds down at 2000
me down at 2200
dd up at 2300 and 0200 for some milk
ds up at 0400 for some milk but had been grizzling a lot so basically had to pad him down every 1-2h so he won't wake dd...

And that's a typical night besides the every 1-2h down padding, that's only about once a week or so..

So you see... I can't even remember what 8h solid sleep feel like... but I dream of it

p.s. dd is 3.3 and ds is 7 months

Gawd! 7 hours??? Since ds was born nearly 4 years ago we have survived on about 6hours broken sleep a night if we're lucky! We take turns getting up so we can survive it. DD is a good sleeper, but still stirs during the night a few times. Then we have to get up at 6.15am for work. [knackered emoticon]

I think I may be getting used to it.. maybe one day I'll be able to happily have four hours (like Mrs Thatcher!), think how much I'd get done!

Got about 6 hours last night and as that seems to be looking pretty good I will stop complaining! I have to admit I do take Proplus every now and again....

BTW HappyDaddy (and everyone who is surviving on less than 6 hrs straight!) you are all amazing!

Bloody kids, eh? Who'd have 'em??

yep who'd have them... oh hang on... all of us

I'm so used to sleep deprivation (dd is 3 and until recently was a terrible sleeper) I consider feeling like a zombie as being in top form! ATM with 6 month old I'm back to ghoul stage though.
