DD is 20m. After being an awful sleeper for 7mo, she settled into a good pattern of sleep. We had some night waking phases, and early rising phases but all was otherwise well. She now broadly sleeps from 7.30pm-6.30am at night, which is fine by us!

Over the last fortnight she has stopped napping in the day (had perhaps 2 naps in the last week), but is hideously overtired by 4ish in the afternoon.

If she's not napped, and I try to take her out after around 3pm (to break the bored/tired whinging pattern), she will drop off in the buggy/car, and is then up 'til midnight. Which, understandably, I want to avoid. So I feel as though I am stuck at home in the afternoons with a very cranky girl, and it's doing neither of us any good.

How did you all get through this tricky period? And how long will it take before DD get used to the new pattern?

Can't help but bumping for you.
Actually, I think there is a new support thread you may want to check out. Good luck.
