we still used ours for dd till she was about 3 but only when we were downstairs and she was upstairs in bed i.e. the parent unit is in the living room. We didnt use it upstairs as we leave our door open and can hear the lo's if they cry. DS still has his monitor too and is 2 - we use it the same way we did for dd as you cant always hear them when they are upstairs and we arent.

We live in a 2 bed maisonette. We use it when she is in her room asleep during the day and evening but at nighttime, when we go to bed, we don't have it on. We have our door open and hers shut. I didn't sleep a wink when it was on as every time she moved, I woke up. I still wake up if she makes any noise louder than a tiny whisper.

It is a long way form ds's bedroom to the living room, so we use it till we go up to bed. We don't use it overnight - too loud!

We dont use ours unless we're staying at the inlaws... We live in a 2 bed flat though so she's always within earshot
