...goes to sleep crying and wakes up crying? He's 17 months. He's always done it (as did dd until she was able to talk). Makes no difference if we're in the room, in the same bed, whatever. And he really is the happiest child the rest of the time - he very rarely cries at any other point in the day, it's just this sleeping/waking thing. I dream of a child who wakes up and gurgles to themselves until I go in.

DD wakes up crying every time. She still bfs to sleep though so can't cry with her mouth full! She's 15 months.
