but only really for morning sleep. i swaddle her up and hold her aginst my chest very firmly, while rubbing her back, even if she doesnt need winding. if i put her down to sleep without doing this she cries. its nice cos i like the cuddling, but is this a bad habit? i know my dad will say 'your making a rod for your back'

She's tiny tiny still Misdee - do it. I heard the other day that babies should really be born at 3 months old - the only reason they come when they do is so they fit on the way out(!)

So by rights, she should still be being hugged tight inside you - just cuddle away, relish the new baby smell and worry about getting her into good habits when she's three months old

thats what i thought as well. she looks so contented when snuggled aginst my chest. then she starts to try and eat me lol.

She sounds adorable...broody, moi? Er...just a bit!

you can't spoil a little baby, you just can't

do what you feel is right until they're 3 months old, then start to consider what kind of routine you'd like to edge them into, then do nothing until they're 6 months old by which time they'll have edged you inot the routine they want

congratulations by the way [girn]

misdee... my ds is like that too! i also swaddle him and snuggle up on the sofa and have a nice cuddle.

misdee, when my mum says that to me I just say 'It's my rod and my back.'

She's still so teeny tiny - cuddle cuddle cuddle.
