I have a 31/2 yr old that has never slept a night, he wakes up every night it usually ranges from 2 to as many as 7 times a night! ive tried everything nothing works, i end up having to go in a settle him back down or he wont go back to sleep he either just keeps crying or he starts yelling or shouting! any suggestions as to something else i can try?

oh my god what a nightmare! At 3 and a half I think you would just have to keep going in and just saying sleep time night night, don't give him any chance to talk to you, no interaction at all! Once you have gone in and said that, tucked him back up if he is still shouting leave him 10 mins and then repeat as before. In theory if he is getting no attention for waking up and you are totally consistent in your response he will eventually give up! A reward chart for the nights he doesn't wake mummy up might work as well. Does he sleep during the day and have a bedtime routine? Xx

Get 'Teach your child to sleep' by the Millpond Sleep Clinic. It goes through various different sleep problems and ways of solving them, and it's not by an individual promoting their own ideas, but a sleep clinic with proven success.

I think the key thing, whatever method you use, is to be absolutely consistent, until your LO gets the message.

I took my dd to a cranial osteopath just before her 4th birthday it's like having a different child, she gets to sleep more quickly and now very very rarely works, think we had about 4 treatments.

OMG read that as 31 yr old/ 32 yr old. Was going to say my dh is the same, send him downstairs with the remote.
