have come quite far...can now sit near the door and ds (20mo) settles himself to sleep. But still wakes up 1-3 times a night. Anyone got an inspiring success story? would be much appreciated! thanks

yes it worked with my DS when he was 18 months. for us it was also about fully breaking the association milk / sleep so stopping giving him milk at night and giving him milk gradually earlier before bed time. it wasn't instant and he still woke up in the night for a while and called out but we learned to leave him and he usually went back to sleep himself after a few minutes unless there was somethng wrong.and he gradually called out less and less and then not at all.
