If your 5 year old normally NEVER slept during the day but today had slept from 10 till 11.30 am, would you put him to bed at the normal time or what?

He was ill this morning and flaked out after being sick a few times. Will he be tired enough to go to bed at 7 pm as usual or should we delay it? He's right as rain now btw and has gone out to the park for a run before bedtime

I'd put him to bed normal time.

unknownrebelbang · 02/07/2008 18:32

I'd try his usual bedtime.

FrannyandZooey · 02/07/2008 18:34

oh I forgot to mention - if he is not tired enough to sleep when we put him to bed, he tends to be a bit of a PITA and shout down a lot for things, or reappear

so it would be more pleasant and relaxing to have him playing down here rather than upstairs in bed but not asleep, if that makes any difference to your answers...

nope - still try him now - if he wasn't well this morning the sleep was probably a result of that IYKWIM.

Surely if he is a pain he can just come down in his PJ's until you feel he is ready to settle??

unknownrebelbang · 02/07/2008 18:38

lol Franny.

Guess it doesn't really matter for one night.

DS3 was poorly this morning, but is in fine fettle this afternoon. I don't want him to be ill, obviously, but was hoping to pack him off to bed early for once (he's 9 though).

ChasingSquirrels · 02/07/2008 18:39

normal time.

FrannyandZooey · 02/07/2008 18:39

yes will do then
no it doesn't matter for one night

WideWebWitch · 02/07/2008 19:17

Gobbledigook · 02/07/2008 19:18

mum2jakeyroo · 02/07/2008 19:20
