Chronic sleep disorder- worried

I’ve had a sleep disorder my whole life- specifically if I had a fever as a kid I’d have a vivid dream filled with colours and then have a night terror. They weren’t every night but often.

As a young adult I’d have them at uni, jolt awake and bolt out the door. I once got locked out of my building in my underwear in winter with no recollection of why.

Then as a mum, I’d wake and couldn’t find my babies or think they needed resuscitating.

It’s now got so bad I have to sleep separately from my husband to try not to wake him as they are EVERY night. When I wake, it isn’t from a dream or nightmare, and I’m fully awake and pretty coherent. But I am convinced I need to find a certain medication or drink salt water or iron in my water. I normally break into the room my husband is in and start telling him this or asking why this is happening to me, but most often I end up downstairs putting salt in my water. I sort of come to eventually and go back to bed. Last night though, I was actually talking to something- like a higher being- telling it to leave me alone and let me sleep.

I have had a sleep study- home negative. I’m on a waiting list for an in lab study and all bloods are normal. My doctor is concerned about REM sleep disorder and so am I.

I am not anxious, I meditate before bed and take magnesium glycinate sometimes- it makes no difference and it happens nightly regardless of what I do or how I feel.

Anyone have any suggestions? Medication? Priest?! Thanks if you got this far…
