Ds is 6 months and man oh man his sleep is getting worse. Last night he was up 5 times - and refuses his dummy and only will feed back to sleep. I really need to stop these sleep suck association - does this book work. One of my big problems is that he will wake as soon as I put him back in the cot - I can't co- sleep - I just can't do it.

it does work but it takes time

dd's sleep went haywire (waking every hour or more, feeding to sleep, waking when put down etc) at 4m and we started cosleeping to survive
Started NCSS at 7m - bed/bath routine, comfort blanket, the whole lot
Now at 10m she is in her own cot all night and we put her down dozy but awake. She still wakes 3 or 4 times but is settled by a 2min cuddle and no feed (soo far away from the hour-long feeding/bouncing marathons it used to take)
Next step wil be settling her by shh-pat without picking her up...

Good to hear that mrsb - think i was lured into a false sense of security as dd is a fantastic sleeper! Ds can't seem to occupy himself during the day either - he needs so much picking up etc
