Baby no 3 is 10 days old and I've forgotten all baby sleep tips and not even sure it will work with two older kids in the mix.

baby 3 sleeps on 3-4hr stints during the day and as soon as the big kids come home from school (7yo and 4yo) just doesn't settle properly until they leave for school in the morning. We live in a small house and the kids are quite noisy.

at night she won't settle unless it's on me/on the boob.

any tips? I've got the white noise on but it doesn't seem to help.

I think I'll just have to go with the flow with this one and she'll have to get used the chaos and figure out her own routine 😅

You are only ten days in, baby is still getting feeding established and they do just want to sleep on the boob, trick is to start trying to take them off just before they fully go milky drunk, but are satiated and then try to let them self settle a little to sleep. I used to pre warm the bassinet/crib with a hot water bottle so when I did the hug and roll onto the mattress it didn't startle them. I also put tucked one of DH's large t shirts that I had slept in the night before over the mattress as a sheet so it smelled of me.

DC3 they just had to fit around the schedule for the others, so I would preempt feeds and changes prior to school runs and not sweat the naps getting into a routine, they just slept when they slept in the pram or sling around what we were doing (DC1 and 2 were 4 years and 2 years old so we were always out in the park, playgroups, soft play etc). Eventually it came together.
