3.5 year old still waking at 5 after clock change

3.5 year old, not napped for ages. Before clock change was going to bed at 7.30pm and slept through most nights until 6-6.30am. Sometimes wakes once a night from nightmares. Average of 10.5 hours a night.

Since the clock change, he’s been waking up at 5.30am on the dot or this morning 4.50am! He’s still going to bed at 7.30pm as usual but getting less sleep overall and is grumpy for it. He falls to sleep quickly at bedtime so it doesn’t seem like he’s not tired at bedtime. I would’ve thought his body clock should’ve adjusted by now? Is it possible it’s triggered a change in sleep needs and now only needs 10 hours? I don’t want 8pm bedtimes 😩

He might be overtired. Try putting him to bed at 7pm for a few nights and see what happens. Then you can work back to the 7:30pm bedtime.
