DS too heavy to rock to sleep - now what?

I always BF my son who is seven months to sleep. He wakes up about half an hour later and then he gets rocked back to sleep as he is not interested in being BF at this time.

He's too heavy for me to do this now and my DH is starting to struggle. We don't want to leave him to cry it out. We have tried the no cry sleep solution but it made things worse and I had a very awake baby in the middle of the night.

Any suggestions?

could you try just holding and shusshing him rather than rocking him or leave him in the cot and try patting him and making the shusshing noise till he settles.

does he wake at a regular time? have you tried the 'wake to sleep' method? you need to be very gentle on the wake part at first as you only need to stir them a little.

do you watch him closely before he wakes? have you tried doinf sshush/pat when you see him starting to stir?

they are not always easy to do but i have fond that if i get to DS in time i can get him to keep sleeping very easily. if i don't get to him on time we are awake for a while sometimes.

Buy a rocking/gliding chair, they are great.
