weight loss as a result of lack of sleep anyone?

My DS is now 8 months and I've rarely had more than 3 hours sleep at a time. I had a similar experience with my first son and both then and now I'm losing weight like mad! I know I shouldn't grumble as most people have the opposite problem after giving birth but it is starting to worry me a little. I'm still BFing at night, which is no doubt contributing to the weight loss and I keep toying with the idea of giving it up, though I was hoping to last until he was a year old.
Anyone else had a similar experience?

Yes - no one's ever believed me but I'm sure this is exactly what happened to me! Coupled with the 'not having chance to sit down for more than 5 min (except when feeding) ever syndrome'. And I do have a thyroid problem.

Yes, me too. My DS is only 10 weeks old and I'm already down to my pre-pregnancy weight. I think it's a combination of Bfing, horrible lack of sleep (I may get one 3 hour stretch every 24 hours if I am lucky; the rest is the odd 45mins / hour here and there) and not having time to eat as much as I should.

Yes, me too. Settled down when he finally stopped feeding at night.

I think science says we should gain weight while suffering from sleep deprivation. I can't remember the technicalities but something to do with leptin and hormones and appetite and stuff.

I'm knackered and perpetually hungry but I'm also BFing and my weight is unchanged so who knows?!
