Struggling with my babies sleep schedule.

Hi all, this is my first post so bare with me…

my DS is almost 10 months old and I’ve been really struggling to get him into a routine but I have to go back to work in a few weeks and need help!

He goes down to sleep (in his cot, independently) at 7pm and will generally sleep through until anywhere between 6/7pm. I let him wake up naturally unless it gets to 7am and he’s not awake still.

I have no idea what I’m going wrong from there. He only naps for 30 mins at a time and he usually has 3 naps a day. He wakes up crying and I can’t settle him back down. His wake windows are currently 3hs.

thanks in advance for any guidance

I think maybe moving to 2 naps at this age? If his wake windows were longer then he might be able to nap longer. I think 3 hours is fairly normal for the first one but the others should be more like 3.5 then 3.5 or 4. My baby is almost 11 months but has been on 2 naps for several months and currently doing 3.25 hours then 3.75 then at least 4.25

I definitely agree about 2 naps. Mine went onto 2 naps from about 7/8 months. If I remember correctly our schedule would be roughly wake at 7ish, nap for 1 hour from 10-11 (sometimes less if I had something on in the morning), an then another hour nap 2-3 and then bed for normally 7-7.30pm.
