What sleeping bags fit small newborns?!

Hello

I've been looking at sleeping bags and most I've looked at say suitable from birth but the minimum weight of baby also says from 4kg/8.8lbs. If you have a small baby at birth then you can't use one until they reach that weight!

Has anyone found any that are suitable for smaller weights? We will buy one anyway for when they do reach that soon enough but unsure what to do for first few weeks - blankets make me nervous! Baby is due to be small.

We used blankets for the first week which was nerve wracking. Then we got the Purflo sleeping bag and they have poppers that go under the armpits so the bag can't slide up over their face, that was really reassuring for me 😊

Is your baby due quite soon ie over the summer? If so you may not actually need anything, just dress baby in vest and sleepsuit.
Blankets are fine tucked in all around 3 sides with baby's feet at the bottom of the crib, and no loose fabric. I often did that for daytime sleep.

Or, very small babies often sleep well swaddled. Did this mostly at night. No idea if it helped but my babies did both seem to get night and day sorted out fairly quickly.

One of my babies loved being in a TT swaddlebag like this, Swaddlebag which it says is from 3.2kg. Very handy as you can feed baby with arms out then tuck them in once asleep to prevent startle reflex.
The other I used a Groswaddle for which was a kind of bag at the bottom and loose arms you wrap around baby at the top. This kind of thing
