18month old waking up in the night

Hiya

Im honestly a bit weirded out. My (almost) 18 month old for the past 3/4 nights has been waking up in the night and just sitting there and not doing anything.. he doesn't cry, doesn't talk. Nothing.

Last night he woke up at 2:30am (we have nanit and it notifies us) and was sat up until 4am.

Is he doing this in his sleep? Im really confused and I feel guilty. Hes just sat there with nobody's help cause he's not crying for us and it's making me have mega bad mum guilt. Usually he sleeps through if hes not poorly or not at his nanss (he likes to pick on her hahaha)

Thanks for reading!

I wouldn't worry about it. I've occasionally seen my DS sitting upright in his cot but seemingly asleep / non responsive when I've checked on him at night. No idea how often / how long he has done it as there's no camera. I would guess it's something like sleep walking where he's kind of in an in between state. Little people are weird and do weird things while their little bodies are learning! As long as he's not upset and doesn't seem too tired in the day I wouldn't worry.

My DS does the same. Sometimes the monitor goes off and he's just lying there staring into space for half an hour. So weird

@3ormorecharactersI'm not concerned, I was just worried we had a ghost in the house 🤣 and it just gives me mega bad mum guilt as if hes just sat there and I dont know if that makes sense, but I do think it's like a sleepwalking thing as well, so sleep sitting haha. Its so strange
