Baby waking every time I come to bed

Hey all,

I'm hoping someone can give me some help or reassurance.

I have a 4.5 month old and recently whenever I come to bed no matter what time it is my baby wakes. I am silent, get changed outside, make sure there’s nothing around to disturb, duvet already down so I can just creep into the bed and he wakes every single time without a doubt. He defo didn’t do this when he was newborn and he probs only started this a few weeks ago.

Hes my second and I can remember if I had this with his sister. I can’t move him into his own room as we live in a 2 bed, im seriously considering sleeping on the sofa until the first wake up just to see how long he sleeps but I’m hoping this isn’t forever and praying it’s just a regression thing and he’ll be back to deep sleeps soon? X

Does he do the same when your DH goes to bed? At that age we just took DS up to bed when we went as they aren’t suppose to sleep in a room alone anyway and we tended to go to bed together

Are you breastfeeding? Someone told me which I thought was nuts but turned out to be right is that they can smell the milk on you and this stirs them. Why not just give a little tip up feed in the dark and quiet when you go to bed and they’ll sleep through x

My daughter is 13 months old and is still like this even now, she absolutely just knows when I am going to bed and wakes up😂

I'm not actually sure as he’s co-sleeping with my little girl at the moment, maybe we can try it and see!

He goes down around 7 ish and would wake if we kept him in the living room sadly otherwise I would do. Xx

Yeah I am I think my little girl did something similar around this age as well and just wanted to be fed all the time!

We tried this a month or so ago and he still woke up an hour later but I’ll try again tonight and see if it settles him more! Thanks again x

it’s crazy isn’t it !! I think I’d be fine if he woke and then slept again but it almost seems to start him wanting to feed loads throughout the night.x
