5 month old not sleeping at night at all

My 5 month old daughter has been a good sleeper since 2.5/3 months - she generally went down at 8/9 and first wake up was between 3-5, and then she'd go down after a feed until 6/7. At 4 months she woke up every 2 hours for about a week but then went back to sleeping well.

Starting about 2 weeks ago she started waking up at 1am and refusing to go back down, she won't even co sleep. The last 4 nights she won't go down at all until about 3, when she sleeps for 2 hours and is up.

She's also fighting day naps. I've tried co napping, letting her fall asleep on me, putting her in her cot - she just won't do it. We thought she was too tired so spent the last two days focusing on napping/wake windows and having calm days at home but it's made no difference.

It feels like this is not going to stop and my mental health is going down hill rapidly as getting out and about is what keeps me sane, but I don't feel like I'm safe to drive currently. I have ADHD and am struggling to get any sleep if she does go down as I'm just spiralling about her not sleeping.

Do I have any hope of this improving? Any suggestions on how?

Have you tried solids? She might be hungry if you are just giving her milk.

Wake her at the same time every day eg 7am regardless of what happened the night before

@converseandjeans we plan to start weaning next week, but I don't think it's this as it's a bit too suddenly awful.

@Whiteflowerscreed I generally wake her at 7 by opening the blinds and trying to start the day.

@Keggles36 how do you know? It’s very common for people to write on Mumsnet that their 5 month old won’t sleep more than a couple of hours. People used to start weaning at 4 months & I think people get fixated on the 6 month deadline. It’s up to you obviously but I personally would be giving a spoon of baby porridge at bedtime if I was then able to sleep. I know lots will disagree with this.

Is she definitely tired enough? What's her wake windows and schedule like?
