7 week old will only sleep on me at night

Hi all,

I have a 7 week old DS and he will only sleep on me or Dad at night. As time goes on it’s becoming harder to manage as we are very tired! He also still wakes every 2 hours max to feed (EBF). At first I assumed he’d grow out of it soon enough but no signs yet. He wakes and screams the second he’s moved to next to me cot (we’ve tried warming cot a bit, putting my top, slightly raising his head). He also refused to sleep next to me in bed. Has to be on our chest, either on his front or side.

For naps he mainly sleeps in carrier, being held, or will sleep in pram as long as it keeps moving.

Wondering if anyone has any tips for moving them to cot at night? We will eventually sleep train but he’s far too young now. But would really like to occasionally sleep not propped up with pillows and a baby on me! I’m wondering if he’d be happier sleeping in cot on his front but am anxious to try and deemed dangerous- so if anyone has advice on that also appreciated.

Many thanks

My first baby was exactly like this. We co-slept and I did a hug and roll method (re. Ross from Friends!). I let her sleep on me and then slowly rolled to my side but still holding her tight. Then rolled away. This slowly progressed to her falling asleep on her side with me cuddling her and then her sleeping on her back with my hand on her. After about four months we sleep trained, earlier than recommended, but worked for her and us!
