8 month old, nighttime sleep and teething!

Hi,
I have an 8 month old baby, his sleep has always been pretty up and down but always done a pretty good 6-8 hour stretch before waking for a feed. I started weaning the night feeds a couple weeks ago, I got down to 3oz and it seemed ljke he dropped the feed himself and resettled if I put the dummy in his mouth. He done a 10-11 stretch for a couple days.

Then he started teething really bad, poor boy. Still not teeth yet! Although I feel like he’s been teething for months and no sign of teeth, just the symptoms of it getting worse.

When I put him to bed, he’s now waking up after 3-4 hours screaming! Will not resettle with a dummy or a cuddle absolutely nothing the only thing that works is giving him a bottle but he’s drinking 2oz and falling straight back asleep. He almost knocks out instantly after having a sip. And then he’s up doing the same thing 4 hours later. He’s never done this before! He doesn’t feed to sleep ever, not with naps not with bedtime sleep so I don’t know where he has gotten this from. He falls asleep in his cot on his own with a dummy and never really cried for it back until 8 hours later.

I really don’t know what to do. I feel like the only answer is teething, and I don’t know how to help him. Any advice would be amazing. I know everything is a phase and he’ll probably grow out of it but I don’t know what to do 😫 has anyone gone through this before

Hey, I’m totally with you. My little 1 was 8months old yesterday has never entertained a dummy but slept pretty well. He has 3 teeth and another 2 have virtually cut through but they are at the top and driving him bonkers. I have been up since 430 with him, offered him a feed like you but still was screaming, calpol and anbesol and still crying. It’s awful! I also think we are in the 2/3nap transition so he keeps waking early every morning atm!
hopefully it soon passes for us both and those naughty teeth come through for your little 1 very soon! X
