How do I get my 3 month baby to change sleep cycle time???

Please help. I have a wonderful baby boy who sleeps perfectly from 11pm until 8am. I know - not bad huh? I am nearly embarressed to ask but..)

BUT he is a little adorable nightmare from 8pm until 11pm! He hardly sleeps and is fussy and irritated all evening. We have lights off and minimal noise, we've tried putting him to bed but he screams the house down. He's a very happy baby otherwise and sleeps and eats very well at all other times.

He used to cluster feed around this time, but doesn't need to do that anymore. He just struggles to sleep now..

I am worried he will always sleep at 11pm and not early evening like all other babies.

I love the baby whisperer but there doesn't seem to be an answer in that book for this!

How old is he? It sounds as if he is tired from 8pm, but you need to persevere with a calming routine to get him settled more quickly.

maybe overtired by the time it gets to 8? I found it extremely hard to believe when my dd started to get tired earlier and earlier - we now head for a bath about 6.15 - 6.30pm (she's 5mths).

She's still a crap sleeper though but the earlier bedtime hasn't impacted any

Mine went through that at 3 months - just miserable and crying and didn't want to feed. He got through it in a couple of weeks and started going to sleep earlier. It's like it takes them a while to realise that if they go to sleep, they'll still get fed at 11

We had the same problem with oldest now 4 but he sleeps like a dream now. We introduced a strict bedtime routine when he was this age. Bath at 6.30 in Calming bubble bath, got him dressed and ready for bed upstairs with lights out ( black out blinds at this time of year) feed, cuddle and bed. He appreciated the routine and it worked and we stuck to it day in day out which is crap but at about 12 months was able to keep him up later once or twice a week. I was breast feeding and made sure he went to bed drowsy not asleep. He did wake in the night for a feed but went straight back to sleep.
