Waking every 40 minutes/hour and crying - wondering why

This sounds more terrible from the subject than it is - dd, 15 months, goes to bed at 7. She's always been a good sleeper, with maybe the occasional shout about 20 minutes/half an hour after we put her down because (I think) she was very tired and just wanted to be asleep. Just over the last few days she's started crying about every 40 minutes/hour between 7 and 11 p.m. The first bout is usually the worst, but only lasts a couple of minutes, and usually she sleeps fine from 11 onwards. So it's not really affecting us, I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

Teething... ?

45 minutes is their sleep pattern at this age. As adults we move more to 90 minute cycles.

DD has been a slave to her 45 minutes since Birth and it nearly killed me

I suspect she is feeling poorly therefore you are noticing her cry out more.

She's just had a rotten time with MMR and is also teething, so it sounds like you're all right. Tonight not much at all - in fact DH had to check on her for parental reassurance. Thanks folks!
