DOH, what have I done? Second night of being in bed not cot and it is hell

18 month old DS is a climber.

We decided to nip any cot climbing in the bud by taking off the bars and turning cot into toddler bed.

It is now 8.15 and my normally docile and easy to bed toddler is now sobbing at the top of the stairs. I caught him trying to put the bars back on the cot this afternoon (DH had left them underneath the cot) and I wonder if he is trying to tell me to put them back on for him?

I've tried putting him back into bed etc but nothing is working.....help!

I would put the bars back on, there is no point if he is happy in the cot

It takes time and persistance. Keep putting the little darling back, stick with it. He'll get it. Maybe one of those bed guards will make him feel more secure?

scooby, that is what MIL said so I reluctant to back track as she'll say I told you so. Unless we do that and not tell her.

Last night was fine. The little soul is so upset, I can't bear it.

Oh dear, I have just this with dd and she really likes it. Perhaps go with the safety rail as it might make him feel more secure. Bless him!!
