Travel cot supplied by accommodation on holiday - safe?

Hi, we go on holiday soon and the accommodation have a travel cot we planned to use. Now it's getting closer I've started to worry about SIDS as i was under the impression second hand mattresses shouldn't be used. Is it safe for our 8 month old to use the cot bed? I was going to buy new sheets should I also buy a new mattress?

What kind of accommodation? They don’t usually provide mattresses- I often take my own eg for hotels like premier inn etc you’ll get one with quite a firm base but no mattress.
You don’t need new sheets - do you take sheets for adults too?

I wouldn't trust a hotel cot, we just take our own. We have the Baby Bjorn (previously for the preschooler but he's grown out of it now and sleeps in an actual bed) and the Babymore Airglide for the baby which is her full time bed at home as well.
