3yo keeps getting up after going to bed - any suggestions

My 3 yo has had an established routine for ages of bath, story and lights out. Over the past few months she's waited until I'm downstairs, then gets up. When I go back upstairs, she runs into her room, like it's some sort of game. She's often laughing.

This can go on for some time and usually ends up with me shouting at her to stay in bed. This works, but I feel awful and it can't be nice to go to bed being shouted at every night.

We've got a reward chart, but it doesn't seem to work at all.

Any suggestions for getting her to stay in bed? Any help gratefully received.

does she shout and play till you go upstairs .. if she's quiet I'd try ignoring her and seeing if she just goes back on her onwn .. do this for a week minimum to see if it has any effect ..

alternatively go up, say nothing, no eye contact, scoop her up put her in bed and leave .. possibly hiss 'bed' at her .. but if you choose this has to be consistently this approach

personally I sit in the living room and screech 'get into bed' at the top of my voice like a fishwife

I too go for the screaming option.

Tis as effective as anything else IME.
