Next to me crib Vs co sleeping issue

So my baby will not settle in her next to me. She'll settle perfectly fine and still just laying next to me in the bed (no touching) but if she's in the crib she'll flail her arms and legs around and grunt and don't understand why as there's no difference and I want her in the crib not in our bed. For context, she can still smell me in the next to me and I put a t shirt of mine in there and a hot water bottle to make it warm. I just don't understand why she'll kick and move her arms and just be so unsettled in there as that then wakes her up fully and is then a nightmare to get back to sleep. She's 7 weeks if that helps

Your baby maybe small but they certainly intuitively know the difference between being next to you personally and next to your bed. They simply crave the warmth of the body.

They just know! Is the side down? Can you leave your arm around them for a few mins? That worked for mine /or I used to let them fall into deep sleep with me and then gently roll into next to me….
