3 (nearly 4) year old waking at night

Looking for any advice... My soon to be 4 year old has always been a good sleeper. Lately he has been waking in the early hours on a regular basis. He's not upset, but likes to loudly play in his room, to the point it disturbs everyone in ebe house. He will settle eventually if we go and give him cuddles, but nothing else works. Is this just a temporary sleep regression?

We’re in the same boat! Our little girl will be 4 in September. Has always been a fantastic sleeper but over the last few months she’s been waking multiple times throughout the night. We go through the works:

  • I’m hungry/thirsty
  • I’m scared of the dark
  • It’s too light or too dark
  • I don’t feel very well
  • There are monsters

I couldn’t find any info regarding a sleep regression at this age but there seems to be a general consensus that they do have an over active imagination now that they’re understanding the world that little bit more.

I just want to know when it will end! I don’t remember the last time I had a night of undisturbed sleep.
