2 year old - how on earth can I get her to sleep?

She's probably overtired, but screaming and screaming at the moment. She does have a cold, but I know there is nothing really wrong with her. How on earth do I get her to settle? I'm on my own (dh away), have ds currently also trying to sleep amidst the noise and no one to come & help me out. I know from experience that dd is perfectly capable of screaming for the next hour if she so chooses. Suggestions very welcome.

I use the supernanny technique and just keep going in and settling her down without speaking to her after saying night night

my dd1 does this quite often when she is over tired she screams and screams that her feet are hurting and aching!

i usually give her a dose of calpol and talk to her untill she settles! huggung her doesnt work it just makes her worse. tell her that the calpol is magic medicine that will her make her feel better but it will make her feel sleepy and she should lay down

I can't get a word in edgeways as she keeps screaming even when I'm there. Nothing I can do will calm her, unless I take her out of her cot. How long might the supernanny technique take? Am happy to give it a try, but need reassurance that I'll get there. She's usually pretty good at settling, but with this cold she's being an absolute madam.

medised then, no harm in a little medical intervention until she's better and then try to sort her bedtime routing once she's feeling better?
