13 month old still won't sleep!

Hi all,

As the title says, my 13 month old still won't sleep through the night. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I need to change things up a little. For context he's always been a rubbish sleeper and would wake up every 1.5 hours for what felt like forever!
He's doing a lot better now thankfully but still isn't sleeping through. He sometimes wakes 2-3 hours after bedtime or wakes 1-3 times during the night. I know this isn't terrible and I'm not too bad with the broken sleep but I just wondered if it's something in our routine I could try and change.
He's been exclusively breast fed since birth, he still feeds off me but usually for comfort but I still feed him to sleep for his naps + bedtime. He will go to sleep in the pram and car though. Our nightly routine is always the same and has been since he was around 6 months old.
Any ideas on things to try?

Switching to bottle feeding is the key for sleeping through the night. A big bottle of formula milk (6-8oz) provides more calories to allow sleeping through.

In addition, sending the baby to nursery would help to exhaust them. My baby (2nd one) always sleeps through the night on the days she goes to nursery and wakes up for feeds in the middle of the night on the days she stays at home.

I don't agree with pp I'm afraid as you don't need your switch to formula at his age.
It's all about sleep association and his is needing the breast - it probably has nothing to do with hunger and is for comfort (which is fine and nothing wrong with that). Do you wish to continue breastfeeding? What about night weaning only if you don't want to stop completely? There are plenty of insights into this on google.

Sorry for the typos.

Hi @pollypocke i exclusively breastfed my daughter too and she slept through the night at about 18 months. From 12-18 she would wake once and I would give milk and she would be back asleep. When I was ready I decided that when she wakes my husband would go to her and cuddle her offer comfort, that seemed to break the association and she then slept through.
i continue to breastfeed in the day and before nap and bed.

i do think child’s temperament plays a key role here rather than you breastfeeding
