4 week old terrible gas at night

I’m losing the will to live! My 4 week old has really disrupted sleep at night due to gas. Have tried winding/burping her for ages and keeping her upright for 20 mins after feeding, to no avail. What else can I try?

I have just started using gripe water with my 6 week old and it seems to be helping

But she is still very noisy at night but I think all baby’s are but she doesn’t sound like she is in discomfort and is sleeping just noisily

Have you tried tummy massage and bicycle legs? We got quite a lot of wind out of our now 12 week old that way. Have a look on YouTube for how to do it properly if you haven't already

I had two just like that…it used to stress me out terribly and I tired all sorts of concoctions of gripe water and other remedies with varying success but nothing really got rid of the unsettled groaning and fidgeting….good news is it did stop with both around 13 weeks but it was a stressful 13 weeks. It’s very common apparently in particular with early babies (mine were born 37 and 38 weeks respectively).
I know what you will be feeling but it’s just their little bodies growing, adjusting to life outside the womb and trying to figure out how to process milk.
Hope you and your little one get a restful night soon

are u sure she hasn't got reflux? we had exactly the same and the issue was only made better when we introduced gaviscon to his bottle to keep the contents sat in his stomach
