Hi everyone,
I know there are probably similar posts out there but can't quite find one that describes our situation. DD up to 11mths was a great sleeper, but last couple of months, we've had much more night waking (normally not long, but short bursts of crying, in awkward positions in her cot etc) and wake up has moved from a lovely 7 - 7.30 am to a more eye shattering 5.30 - 6.30 am. Also, she's struggling to find the right day time balance. Because her early mornings are making her tired, sometimes she can;t make it to 9.30am - 10.am before a nap then needs another in the afternoon, which can happen quite late. Any ideas or shared experiences very welcome!

Sorry to hear you're having problems.
What time does she usually go to bed?

ljhooray · 25/03/2008 12:59

Normally between 7 and 7.30pm

Also not really sure how much her daytime sleep will affect her nighttime, what are other mum's thoughts on this?

They usually say that a well-rested baby sleeps better at night than an over-tired one.
That kind of works in the case of my DD, but I suppose it varies from child to child.

It's really difficult to know how to advise you to be honest.
Do you think she might be waking earlier out of hunger? If you gave her a feed, so you think she may go back to sleep?
These things are usually phases that are quite short-lived and I hope that it is in this case too.

Maybe someone else has some better advice...
