8 month old only awake for 1.5 hours today

My 8 month old has been sleeping all day today. She has woken up for 3 blocks of half an hour.

She is drinking milk fine. she is very clingy with me and just wants to be in me.

she is making noises like a mild groan when awake.

should I be worried? My gut is saying she is ill. What would a gp do?

Update: I phoned the GP yesterday for advice. They asked me to come in.

they did lots of checks and checked for meningitis and scarlet fever, checked ears and throat and chest.

he said she had no signs of anything like that so he thinks it is a viral infection. He said to continue with calpol and if she is no better in a couple of days then phone him back or 111.

she did seem slightly better yesterday. Hopefully she is even better today or I will take her back.

im glad I went to the gp though as I didn’t even think of scarlet fever or meningitis and it’s better to be sure.
