I have a 10 month old baby who would never sleep in her cot/basket so has co-slept in our bed since she was about 8 weeks old.
After I gave up on trying to get her into it, I still kept the Next 2 Me cot beside the bed as a bed guard to stop her falling out, stored remotes, water bottle in it 😂 etc.
However now baby is crawling and moving around herself to get into a comfy position, the last couple of nights she's got down into the Next 2 Me and gone to sleep there for a few hours.
I know that Next 2 Mes are only meant for use until the baby can sit up by themselves due to danger of falling, but mine is positioned in such a way that it's surrounded by the bed on one side, walls on 2 sides and my bedside table on the last side which is at the bottom of it, so it's not actually possible for her to fall out and it's tight enough that she couldn't become trapped. Her only exit route is towards the bed and me and I'm a very light sleeper so am always aware when she moves.
My question is is this OK for her to sleep in temporarily (until we can move the actual cot mattress down a layer and give that another try) or are there other dangers I'm not aware of when using a Next 2 Me at this age?
Has anyone else used a Next 2 Me this way?
