To those of you who co-sleep.....

Just wondering how you do it? For example, is your partner in the bed as well? Do you have your DC in a gro bag?

Just interested....

dd has been co-sleeping for 4 years. DH sleeps in the spare room.
Gro-bag?

2 sides cot beside the bed (so there's more room) so it goes DS, me, DH.
DS has his own blanket but usually ends up under the duvet with me. Wear cardi to bed because then you can't have the duvet all the way up (without completely covering DS) and my arms get cold.

when dd was a baby she slept on my side and in a grobag when she was big enough or the weather for it.
thee days if she comes to our bed she just jumps in the middle with her pillow and kicks us out of the way

DS2 starts out in his own bed, and comes into us around midnight. He goes in the middle, under the duvet with me. But he is 2 1/2. I love having him with me, he is so beautiful when he is asleep (and when he is awake too of coursee).

How old is yours?

We started off with DD in the bed and DP sleeping on the sofa. Now DP is back in the bed and DD is usually in between us, depending on which side she has fallen asleep while feeding, otherwise hemmed in by cushions! Have a blanket over my arm as I can't bring the duvet up completely. Have forgotten what it's like to wake up without some body part aching!

DP was worried about us co-sleeping but now I think it's going to be more difficult for him when we move her into her cot

She's 4 1/2 months. We do have a gro bag, which was used about 3 times.....

needmorecoffee, a gro bag is a baby sleeping bag which straps over their shoulders. A great invention when you can use them!

have always co-slept (sadly still do with 2 of them- long story!) but for next baby have bought this and it is great- so much nicer in RL than in the pictures I think, and easy to cart about (for camping etc).

Blooming marvellous stock it in UK, but I found it much cheaper searching about.

In the middle of the bed between DH and I. Otherwise they's fall out. Did it will all 3 of mine.

We have a bed-side cot so ds starts night off in there and then comes into bed with us when he wakes. He goes in middle of bed. He is now 21mo and we have recently brought the duvet back, but before that we used sheet and blankets to avoid him overheating/suffocating.

I love co-sleeping, definitely one of the best parts of being a parent and makes nights much easier!

Regarding getting uncomfortable at night, I think this gets easier as they get bigger and more independent from you. Having said that I still spend a fair amount of time cuddling ds and not feeling particularly comfortable as I prefer to sleep on my back!

Big bed next to the wall - Ds1 is by the wall, me in the middle or Ds2 in the middle, depending which side we were feeding...
If he needs the other boob I just lift him over myself, it's getting easier though Ds1 swivels perpendicular in the night and kicks us to bits!!
Duvet or grobag or blanket, depends how warm it is.

Best thing about it is nobody has to get up in the night. Worst thing is when Ds1 has a bug and throws up all over me and the bed...without warning. I make him decamp to the sofa in his bedroom if I have warning, and sit with him till he falls asleep. He has laminate flooring

I've got a knackered back so I can only sleep on my back or left-hand-side - so DD creeps in between me and a bedrail! (If she was in between us I'd have my back to her which she objects to!) It's quite good because it stops her from kicking DH in the head - although sometimes her snuffling is too annoying and he creeps back into her bed.

Oh MP we have a makeshift bedrail too! He fell out of the pram today in the hall, launched himself - but at least he is safe at night
