Transitioning about of swaddle - avoiding co-sleeping?!

Hi all,

My 10week old has started to show signs of rolling and is also forcing his hand out of his swaddle, so we're attempting to transition him out of it. Trouble is though is his startle reflex is in full flow!

If he's in deep sleep he's for about 25 minutes (this is all at night) and then slowly wake himself up by thrashing about and wriggling. If I hold his arms down then he settles, but obviously cannot do this all night!

We normally give up and have him in with us, and safely co-sleeping he is absolutely fine - no startle reflex at all.

Any tips?? Or is it just the case for waiting for him to grow out of the startle reflex? I would rather not get him too used to co-sleeping if we can, as that will make it much harder to transition into his own crib later on, and something like a floor bed in the long term just isn't doable for our flat.

Thanks all!
