Why does my baby always wake up at 5am

And how do I make it stop.

It’s around 5 to 5:30am every day. 6am I can handle, 5am I cannot.

He’s 9 months old and normally goes to bed at about 7 or sometimes a little earlier. He does sleep through the night, so that’s good. His room is pitch black. He has white noise on.

His naps are pretty rubbish and he’ll rarely nap for more than 2 hours total in the day.

Is he overtired?? He definitely seems grumpy and tired quite a bit, but is still resistant to longer naps or a later morning wake.

I treat the 5am wakings as a night wake, keep it very quiet and dark, try to pat him back to sleep (occasionally works), and don’t get him out of his crib.

I don’t give him his milk until 6am earliest.

His first nap isn’t until 8:45am earliest.

Pls help.

My LG is exactly the same, she's 12 months but still wakes once maybe twice in the night. Some babies are juat early risers. My 6 year old son is still an early riser, hoping it doesn't last forever as I'm knackered!

Both of mine did this for months on end. Horrendous. Nothing we tried ever made a difference, but they did grow out of it eventually. Just roll with it, there likely isn't anything you can do.

It's natural wake time for lots of babies and children. My DD didn't sleep past 5.30am till she was 4 and a half years old, even now at 9yo she doesn't sleep last 6.30am. At least now she can get up and get breakfast/watch TV for a bit till I wake up.
