Tell me there's hope - 6mo completely reliant on me to sleep

My 6mo is my third baby and very very different to the others. I tried to sleep train but she screamed and screamed and it felt so wrong I stopped. She relies on boob and cuddles to get to sleep and to resettle the (no less than) 3 times a night that she wakes.

Will she get the hang of sleeping through at some point? Or am I stuck bed sharing and not sleeping for years? I hear need to hear that the only way forward isn't hours listening to her crying and screaming.

I'm so tired.

Does she have a dummy? x

@ChilliHealer I ask about the dummy as if you haven’t tried her with one it might help soothe her at night (as that is why she is likely feeding rather than hunger during the night). Also, tommee tippee dummies are the most accepted dummy (by my kids anyway).

You could also try putting a ‘replacement you’ with her such as a toy which sings a lullaby. When baby is unsettled during the night turn the lullaby on and position it where she can see it and put dummy in. You might have to do this for a while before it becomes a learned behaviour but currently her source of comfort is a feed and a cuddle.

I have been in the same situation with my second (I’ve got 3 also) and this has worked for me. Hope it helps you! x

My third DC was also the worst sleeper of the three! I wonder if it's because they get less attention during the day (as we're running around after their siblings) so they like to make up for it at night?! Mine eventually slept through at 3yo. Sorry OP.

My son coslept and was a screamer, if not with me as a baby. It took a while for him to be ready for sleep training, but I did do it. At around 18 months, he was sleeping in his cot and is an amazing sleeper since 3.
