Has anyone read Jodi Mindell instead of Ferber?

Just read that she's considered a gentler version of Ferber. (\link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0062734091/qid=1102621746/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/202-5828705-3007023\This is her book.} But I'd never heard of her. Should I just stick with Ferber if I want results?

I found the Ferber book really unreadable (1986 edn). Very stodgy read. That alone makes me think you should give Mindell a try. For instance, Ferber is vague about what age CC is ok from (has since said in public interviews that it's 6 months, but the book implies 3-4 months).

An alternatve author is Chris Green (Toddler Taming/Babies) basically describes CC quite directly & simply. if you just want simple instrux... Ferber and Green don't differ much, but Ferber says if you are still feeding at night that you should taper down (as a kindness), whereas Green would say go cold-turkey on night feeds.

I've never heard of her. I didn't mind Ferber to read. Ok, it's not poetry but it's easy to follow and the facts are the most important thing.

never heard of mindell but had success with ferber. he actually says in his book (most recent edition) that CC is OK from 6 months.

chris green also good (and entertaining) but ferber is much more specific about what to do.
