Toddler 2.8 not sleeping until 10pm.. losing my mind

So we've never been blessed with a sleepy baby since day dot. We've stick to a routine since early on but we've had more nights of wake ups than we have of sleeping through since she's been born.

However, one thing that DD has always been good at doing is going down awake/sleepy and falling asleep fairly quickly. Bedtime has always been 7:30 but for the last 6 weeks despite putting her down at 7:30 it's now 10:12pm and she's still shouting, reading books, absolutely wide awake. I've done the let her shout it out, gone in at least 10 times and put her straight back into bed but she's still going.

She still naps for 1 hour in the day at 12 but if I don't give her that she's absolutely sparked by 3 and I can't keep her awake until bedtime. So this led me to think she isn't ready to drop it yet?

Any advice please, I'm really starting to lose the will as we just don't have an evening at all anymore! When we both work full time this is the only time I get to actually manage to the house!

Thanks so much

It's not what you want to hear, but with my eldest it meant we got rid of the daytime naps. If he fell asleep at 3, then we just gently woke him up.
It made all the difference, I imagine the transition was hard, but other than a few funny danger naps, I don't remember it much 4 years later.

You’ve got to drop the nap!!! Even if that means a 5.30pm/6pm bedtime for a while!!! You might find you can let her nap every other day for a couple of weeks - that may help but with my 4 once the nap was gone it was gone!!

Yes no nap.
Mine is a few months older, and for about 6 months any nap adds about 2hrs to bedtime.
8pm-8.30pm with no nap
9.30-10pm if he has nap.

Between 3-6pm I try and keep him outside as much as possible to reduce him getting moany

Have you tried reducing the nap, rather than getting rid completely? Personally I'd try cutting to 30 mins first to see if that helps, if not I'd try dropping it. My DD is in this transition, she has a 30 min one some days and some times we don't have any. She definitely goes to bed better without one but it's too much to go everyday without a nap so around every other day at the moment is working while she's transitioning.
