What was the single biggest thing which helped sleep?

I have a 4mo, I know it's a tricky sleep phase. Also have a toddler so time/energy to try lots of different things not so available and wondering what might be the first thing to look at.

So for you, what helped most eg:

  • Routine? (Clock based and/or sleep time routines)
  • Feeding style/schedule
  • Sleep environment
  • Settling methods

For me that stage was a while ago but regular feeding helped enormously.

I swear by routine!

We did sleep training in the end, your LO is too young for that but what I learned from it is that sleep associations are very strong. So routine that builds up sleep associations other than you and milk can be helpful in the long run.

The other thing that helped when I had a small baby and a toddler was a double pram, I decided not to get one then changed my mind and it was really good for getting my toddler to nap. On particularly good days they'd both fall asleep in it, I cd park them up in the hall and snooze on the sofa.

Not being overtired. But mainly just waiting for them to grow a bit older
