How soon after hospital stay should we do sleep training?

My poor LO has just been in hospital for a week and her sleep is better than it was but she's waking up early enough to need CC or PU/PD to sort that out. She only came out at the end of last week. Bearing in mind that she's been through two very minor operations and all that entails but is feeling absolutely fine in herself, when would you start the dreaded sleep training?

how old is she?

Does it have to be dreaded? Can you do a gentler version that none of you will dread?

she's one.

no it's not really dreaded from our point of view - just for her because she will inevitably get upset.

Gradual (very gradual) withdrawal worked really well with dd from about 9 months, and with a little refresher after Christmas!

I know what you mean, my little boy is 17months and has had 7 operations and many hospital stays, and it messes his routine up every time, its a nightmare! the last op was just over 2weeks ago,he goes to sleep ok, just wakes continually through the night wanting to get out,so gonna try cc from the weekend (hmm)
