How normal is 1 nap a day at 1 year?

My daughter's night time sleep has gone to hell and it think it may be because of the daytime naps. Lots of places say that she should still be napping twice a day but I feel she might be ready for 1.

How normal is it for a 1 year old to only nap once? I don't want to make the situation worse.

My 14 month old only has one nap a day. Anywhere from half an hour up to two hours and she sleeps 7-7

Normal. Most babies drop to one nap from 12-18 months. It is a difficult transition

I'm the same as @Kerri9 above - my 14 month old has one nap a day, and typically sleeps 12 hours, and has done since before she was 12 months. The one day per week she is at nursery they encourage 2 naps and she does have them, though they are shorter - typically 20 - 30 minutes each rather than the hour or so she has in one go at home.

Try your LO with one nap and see how she goes?

Also - what time does she nap? I discourage late afternoon napping if I can, as I know it makes nighttimes harder for me!

DS did this before 13 months, I think because it fit in better with his older friends at nursery.

I worried at the time as everything I read said that they should still be on two naps blah blah. He’s still on one nap at 2.

Doesn't really matter what anyone else does- if your baby is ready, they're ready.
FWIW, my sister and I didn't nap at all after 10 mo and DS was on one nap from 10mo til we gave up on naps entirely about 2 as it was making bedtime excruciatingly long

DD1 went to one nap at 10 months and DS2 at 12 months
